Flicking away the sugary debris, the young girl wiped her mouth as her stomach had mad e a rumbly, tumbly sound for another treat. Sighing at such a feat, she opoted to not eat another one and save the rest for the children. It was intriguing how the mind of a child worked, how they feed and bettered themselves with positive reinforcement versus contradictory verbal brandings. "Children..." A thought crossed her mind, halting the yearning for another frosted delight... it had been the first time Raine tookinto consideration having a child of her own though that miracle was unable to be given to her. Nails gingerly raked against the rocky surface as her azure eyes glanced around trying to focus on something else. Shrugging, Raine called for the twins throught hr Force... "Naphira... Samael..." Small orbs looked around the room, taking in everything they saw. Samael and his sister had been in this room a little over a day now, having arrived at the temple sometime yesterday and getting accepted to train as Sith. Sitting ontop the bed Samael thought about all the things they would be learning when their training starts. He could recall many instances when aunty Aurelia and aunty Kass had used the Force, often times it was to hold himself and his sister in place everytime they tried to run off. Such power they were able to wield, to a child it was the most amazing. As he thought about what his father and mother were capable of Samael heard the call in his head. At first he looked around. Upon seeing nobody he shrugged it off, that is until he then realized that he wasn't hearing things...it was that lady he and Naphira had met. Jumping off the bed Samael called out to his sister. It wasn't a vocal call but rather a call through the mind. Unknown to he and Naphira they were already able to use the force to some degree, their ability to speak to each other mentally was one example. Hoping his sister had already gotten the message where ever she was Samael now headed out towards where he could feel the voice was calling from. It would take a long while before the 5 year old would get used to the temple and know where was what. He was still just a child afterall.

She did earn a few strange looks, but no one had yet to stop her. Sighing she ran her hand along the cool surface of the wall to her right. "This place is boring...," she muttered softly, her violet eyes taking in her surroundings. As she rounded a corner a voice floated into her mind and she stopped abruptly. Confused she looked around, slowly turning around and staring back the way she had just come. What was that? Slowly she back-tracked down the hallway, quickening her pace when she heard Samael's call. She smiled lightly and started running down the hallway, knocking over a Knight as she went. The Knight yelled something to her and she thought he might have thrown something at her, but she couldn't be sure nor did she care. Naphira smiled happily and raced down the hallway, meeting up with Samael. Laughing she nearly ran into him, but shoved her way past and skidded to a stop in front of Raine. She smiled sweetly and looked over her shoulder, waving for Samael to hurry up.

Traits that were dangerous to those who didn't know about their lineage. Scooping up a small plate within her hand, Raine presented the cookies before the little girl and smiled kindly. She wanted them to feel safe and trust her, even if by starting out was giving them treats. Raine had not been in the business of trying to buy someone else over with material things -even food- but she fully understood the reservations a child may have. Especially where Naphira and Samael had been concerned. "Would you like a cookie? It's going to be a long day and we won't be eating until later."

IC: Samael frowned as his sister blew past him, shoving him to the side as if this were a race. Catching himself Samael ran faster, yet still reaching the lady after his sister. Looking over to her he stuck out his tongue, a smile soon following it signaling that he would beat her nexttime. As Raine offered the cookies Samael took one first. Because he was the oldest of the twins he felt it his responsibility not just as the oldest, but also as the brother to make sure his sister was safe. He would taste the cookie to make sure it was ok. As he bit down and began to chew a bite, a huge smile crossed his lips. His face almost brightened as the flavor of the cookie impacted his taste buds, sending his tongue into ecstacy. "Mmmmm these cookies are good. Try one sis" His childlike voice spoke, already reaching for another before finishing the first. "Thank you"

A soft and soothing smile brushed against Raine's lips as she watched the little boy rush for another cookie. She did enjoy baking although she wouldn't admit such a thing to most others. As she watched him with comforting enjoyment, a brow lofted as she began to think. Perhaps, this would be an opening gateway to their training. And so, the young Marzullo drew back the plate of cookies slowly until they were -for the most part- away from the children. "If you want more, you'll have to get them with out using your hands." A curious look lifted over her features as she smiled again casually with a small nod to the children. "To do this, you will have to use the one thing that binds us all together, which is, the Force. I want you to concentrate as hard as you can and try reaching for another cookie using your feelings and thoughts. Desire for the cookie, will create the power and means for getting it." Moving her own index finger slightly, Raine used the Force to bring forth a cookie into her own hand. "See, like that. If it dosent happen at first, don't get discouraged, just try again."

"If you want more, you'll have to get them with out using your hands." Without using your hands? How was he to do that? Was this some kind of a trick? or was she just being mean to them and teasing. "To do this, you will have to use the one thing that binds us all together, which is, the Force. I want you to concentrate as hard as you can and try reaching for another cookie using your felings and thoughts. Desire for the cookie, will create the power and means for getting it." Use the Force. Samael and Naphira knew what the Force was, aunty Aurelia and Aunty Kass had used it plenty of times around him, he watched them. He was fascinated how they moved things without touching it or being near them, but he never bothered to ask how they did it, he just saw it as the most incredible thing ever. Often they would tell he and his sister that their parents were also able to do such things, and that oneday they too would be able to. Maybe today they could start learning. Samael watched as Raine brought one of the cookies to her without actually reaching out to the plate and grabbing one. The expression on his face was that of pure fascination, just as it had always been when watching his aunts. "See, like that. If it dosent happen at first, don't get discouraged, just try again." Nodding as she finished speaking Samael finished the second cookie he had. He would get this done before his sister. Oh how she would be jealous of him if he did. Reaching out with a hand Samael looked to the cookies. He did want another, wanted to taste that chocolaty goodness. Yet as he stood there, hand stretched out, I want a cookie playing over and over in his mind...nothing happened. What was he doing wrong? he just watched her do it and she didn't even have her hand outstretched, she used a finger. He must be doing something wrong. In a fit of frustration Samael shot out his hand again, this time yelling out what he wanted. "I WANT A COOKIE NOW!!!" He scrunched up his face as if to show he was concentrating, yet still nothing happened. There was something he was missing, something he wasn't doing right. Yet being only 5 how was he able to figure it out.

Raine knew it had been frustrating for him, for it had been equally as well with her at Samael and Naphira's age. This situation must be handle the with most delicate of care. Smiling, the young Marzullo's features brightened as the the other important factor had shown through; Samael held a dark passion and rage that could become quite vital for the child as he grew. Raine would keep this in mind. "You know, when you wish really hard for something to happen and you get this feeling like you're connected with what it is you want? It usually happens. I want you to do that with the cookie. I want you to focus hard on wanting it and pretend you're already feeling it in your hand. Use your anger to help you. It's alright, Samael, I believe in you." With an approving smile, Raine nodded for the young boy to try once more.

As he spoke Samael listened, the frustration and anger he felt moments ago still lurking in his smalle frame. She wanted him to focus.....what was focus? he wasn't quite sure what she meant but he guessed she meant concentrate on the cookie more, he knew what that word meant thanks to Aunty Aurelia. Once again Samael raised his hand, palm facing upwards fingers outstretched towards the cookie. Letting the anger he felt rise he began to focus, his dark blue eyes intently staring at the cookie. In his mind he could already see himself eating the cookie, munching down the treat while his sister looked on from the side angry that he wouldn't share. More and more he focused, all the while the anger in him rising, snaking its way up through his body and into his hand, stretching outwards from there even. Then it happened. Slow at first it was barely noticed when the cookie on the top of the pile rose up just a hair before it sat back down. Not one to give up Samael pushed harder, his desire for the cookie increasing with every passing second. Again the cookie rose into the air, wobbly but it stayed this time. Then, little by little it began moving through the air, moving past Raine and the plate of cookies and making its way towards him. When it was close enough Samael snatched it out of the air before it could even reach his palm. Taking a big bite out of the cookie a huge smile spread across his crumb covered face. "I did it....I used the Force. Nyah nyah i'm better then you are" He looked to his sister, his tongue all covered in chocolate sticking out at her.

Posts: 21 (03/19/08 17:39:42) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Report Post	Naphira ate the cookie that was given to her, a smile crossing her angelic features clearly showing her seal of approval for taste. Soon a lesson began, her brother deciding to go first. So if they wanted another cookie, they would have to use the Force to get it from the plate, sounded simple enough to her. Often on Dantooine she would use the Force for various things, mostly when she played wrestling with Samael, which was probably why she beat him half the time. A giggle escaped her lips when her brother failed and threw a tantrum. He always did anger quite easily, something about her brother she just loved...making him angry that is. When he did it the second time Naphira simply stuck her tongue out right back at him. "Ohh yeah i'll show you. I can do it better then you can" Naphira looked to the plate of cookies, a gleam shining briefly in one of her twin violet eyes. Reaching out a hand Naphira called out to the cookies. Unlike her brother she had always had a strong connection to the Force, from the point of infancy infact. Often when she slept she would see things, things she did not know why she saw. Sometimes some of these things she would see came to pass right before her eyes, and it scared her. It wasn't until she told Aunty Kass about her dreams did she understand what she was seeing. Aunty Kass had told her they were visions, she was seeing things that were going to happen, a rare ability among Force users. Though she didn't understand completely what that meant she learned to live with it so far. As she called out to the cookie, her emotions rising within, boiling up from the pit of her stomach to the rest of her body she smiled when she saw the cookie rise and make its way towards her. Unlike her brother she waited till it landed softly in her hand, thens he took a bite out of it. Looking to her brother Naphira smiled again. "Ha ha brother, I did it my first try" Both of them began bickering as they ate their respective cookies, still unknown to them they had just complete their first lessons.

They performed well, but their bickering was growing rather tiresome even if one of Raine's greatest virtues had been patience. Auron had never bickered or fussed with her nor did he - let alone herself- display such crudeness over if one's abilities succeeded the others. However, she had seen first hand her aunts and uncles and even her mother be rather quarrelsome. "You did very well, children." For the time being, Raine decided that perhaps friendly - even involuntary - competition might aide the children in their training. But, perhaps there had been a way for the young Marzullo to help them further and thus giving them another lesson. "Now once you finish your cookies, I want you both to sit on the ground back to back." Placing the plate upon the rock, Raine hoisted herself up from the lolled position and brushed away any gathered debris. "I want you both to talk to each other without saying anything. It sounds hard at first, but I know you both can do it. I have faith in you, children." Honest had been her words which seemed softer and more genteel as she smiled. "Remember when I called for you, but you only heard me and I was here waiting for you? It's like that." Since they were twins, Raine assumed they already shared a special connection just as she and Auron had. "It's going to be like grabbing the cookie, but instead of being angry, be calm and concentrate." Luckily for Raine, she was well versed in telekenesis and thus would be able to intervene in their silent conversation should the situation arise for such. He wasn't all too sure of what she was talking about really, how were he and his sister supposed to communicate if they did not speak? sure they had instances when they spoke to one another while being in different rooms, but still they spoke out loud. Unknown to either of the children however it was the force that carried their voices to one anothers mind. Sitting down on the ground he motioned for Naphira to sit up against his back, his sister more then willing to do so. "Ok Naphira lets try this. Remember, no talking" Samael sat there staring infront of him. He did as Raine said and sat calmly, not making a noise or moving a muscle, a rather great feat in itself given he was only 5 years old. Slowly Samael began speaking, not verbally but rather in his head as if thinking to himself. (Naphira.....you....he....m..?) His words were sent in jumbles, his concentration and the force still not fully in sync with one another. Yet would Naphira even recieve what he had sent so far was the question.

Between the two she was the one that was considered good, Samael always getting into trouble. Then again, it was because he always took the blame, being the first born it tended to happen that way. She sat in silence, awaiting for anything to happen. For a while nothing, yet out of nowhere she could hear her brothers voice. It was faint and hard to make out, but she did manage to hear something. (Naphira.....you....he....m..?) He called out to her. What he said after she heard her name Naphira did not know, but it was her turn to try speaking now. (Hello brother can you hear me?) Being connected with the force moresoe then her brother Naphira was unknowingly able to better communicate through the force. She did not know if Samael would hear what she was saying, but the two had spoken like this before....hearing each other in their minds when not in the same room.

He could hear her, almost as clear as if she were actually speaking. Turning around he looked up to Raine, an amused yet quizzical look upon his face. "Auntie Raine, why are we doing this? Its hard" Though it seemed fun to be able to speak to his sister without actually speaking, to Samael it was harder to do. He would have preferred using actual words. His weaker connection to the Force of course was the cause of this small frustration and confusion, yet Samael did not know this, all he knew was this wasn't an easy thing to do...just like getting the cookie.

They were so precious and adorable, their tryings through telekinesis brought back memories of when she was asked to do such a thing. There had never been a dull moment around the little ones and after spending the time she did with them -which seemed that her attention was mostly upon them-, she had grown fond of the twins. As Samael directed her attention, a warm smile shifted upon her face. "You never know when you'll need to talk like this. You could be rooms apart, cities apart, planets apart... in war. It's a very useful tool. I used to have trouble doing this with my brother. At times, all I heard was static and wind. In time, you'll get better at it. You're both doing well so far, I'm proud of you both." Nudging the plate over cookies forward, she left it there if they decided they wanted another one. If she wasn't careful, she was going to end up spoiling them. "Do you children know what a lightsaber is?" Not that she would give them something so dangerous, but to better be prepared later, she needed to ask now.

So she had a brother just a she did.....Naphira wondered if her brother was as annoying as Samael could be at times. Looking to the plate of cookies moving closer to them Naphira giggled. She reached for one without a second thought and immediatly began wolfing it down. As the question oflightsabers came up the little child nodded to Raine....half a cookie sticking out of her mouth. "Yes. Aunty Aurelia had one. But we werent allowed to touch it....she said it was dangerous" Neither she nor her brother ever got to hold an ignited lightsaber...or do anything with a lightsaber while growing up with Aurelia and Kassandra Wayne on Dantooine. Their lives up until now had been peaceful and safe, never having to know or worry about danger....except the occasional happenings on Dantooine, which the Waynes ladies quickly took care of each time.

As Naphira grabbed another cookie so too did Samael, chomping it down faster then his sister had. "Yeah Auntie Kass had one too. I tried to grab it oneday and she spanked me, said I was too young to have one. What is a lightsaber?" They had been told, when they were old enough to understand that lightsabers were dangerous, yet they had never seen nor knew what a lightsaber was for and what it did. As far as they knew it was a small metal stick with a hole in one end. Samael had been curious from the first day he layed eyes on one, but everytime he would reach for one he remembered the spanking he got from Kass and thought twice about touching it. Maybe oneday when they were older he would have one of his own.

They are very dangerous, but they can mean the difference between life and death. Auntie Aurelia was correct, you shouldn't touch them, not unless you plan to use it. They are not toys, but weapons." Cautiously, a dainty hand unclipped the nesting metallic piece from her hip and held it open palmed before the two. It wasn't a real lightsaber nor one designed for training; just a hallowed out hilt. "This is a hilt, it's where your hands go. There's a button you push and the blade comes out the other end. There's all kinds of neat tricks you can do with them, but you'll learn that later. They're kind of heavy after holding them a long time so you need to work really hard to not become tired when fighting. When I think it's right, you both will have one of your own. But for now..." There was no way that Raine would be giving the children a lightsaber anytime soon, or even a training saber. After all, they were not of her family nor of their teachings and Malice would surely have her head. "Auntie Raine has presents for you both." Smiling, the young Marzullo bent to the side and brought forth two replica lightsabers made of a hard plastic and metal, with rubber grips especially made for a child. "For now, these will have to do and they're only for training. I don't want the both of you terrorizing the other Sith or each other. I'd hate if either of you would get hurt. So, we're going to start with basic fighting moves, ok. Samael, I want you to step forward and attack Naphira... and Naphira, I want you to block. When your blades hit together, stop and hold that position. Okay, begin."

Toy or not just simply being allowed to hold on was a treat for him. Once in his possession the child swung it around wildly, already pretending to be in a mock dual with some fierce monster. "Heeeya......kiyaaa....chop......rrrwaaarrr" He moved about in a small space fighting imaginary foes. As Raine told him to attack Naphira a smile crept over his face. Now he would be able to get her and not get into trouble for it like he always did back on Dantooine with Auntie Aurelia. "Ok sure. Come on Naphira" Samaeal charged Naphira, his saber coming in an overhead swing towards her head.

So this is what a lightsaber was....well what a real one would mostly look like anyway. As with her brother she too swung it around a bit, yet unlike him she was not so inclined to spar with imaginary foes. She watched her brother for a bit, laughing a she moved about pretending to slay monsters before coming after her. As Raine had told them Naphira rushed in as well, her blade wildly swinging at Samael, somehow managing to hit his plastic blade swatting it to the left. From this possision both children froze as was told. Maybe Raine was going to tell them how to move with the blade? maybe they would learn how to hit properly, Naphira wasn't sure. What she did know though was that if they didn't do anything within the next few seconds she would continue moving on her brother, wildly swinging her blade in hopes of hitting him. Back on Dantooine she would always torment him every chance she got. Being the younger of the twins and being the girl she rarely got into trouble for her misdeeds.
